2025.5 Update: This is a newly launched card, and its biggest selling point is that it lets you earn points on your mortgage payments. Right now, there’s a 50k point welcome bonus available, ending June 30.

Features
- Earn points on your mortgage! This card’s standout feature is that you can earn points on your monthly mortgage—without needing to pay the mortgage with the card or refinance through Mesa. So how does Mesa let you earn points on your mortgage? Mesa requires you to link the bank account you use to pay your mortgage via Plaid, similar to how you’d connect an account to a budgeting app — that’s it! And then as long as you spend at least $1,000 per month on the card, you’ll earn 1x your monthly mortgage amount in Mesa points.
- 50k offer: earn 50,000 Mesa points after spending $5,000 in the first 90 days.
- Bonus categories: 3x points on home improvement, decor, maintenance, utilities, and daycare; 2x points on groceries, gas, and EV charging; 1x point on everything else.
- See below for a full overview of Mesa points. Since the transfer partners aren’t particularly strong, we’re assigning them a conservative valuation of 0.8 cents per point for now.
- Annual credits:
- $200 annual Thumbtack Credit – Hire trusted pros for home projects
- $120 annual Wag! Credit – On-demand pet care at your fingertips
- $120 annual The Farmer’s Dog Credit – Fresh, healthy meals for your pup
- $120 annual Lowe’s Credit – Upgrade and maintain your home [Attention] You only get this for the first year, and it’s actually $30 per quarter
- $100 Armadillo Home Warranty Credit – Protect your home from unexpected repairs
- $100 Cozy Earth Credit – Indulge in premium, sustainable bedding
- No foreign transaction fee.
- No annual fee
Disadvantages
- You can only earn up to 100,000 Mesa points per year on mortgage-related earnings. But this cap should be sufficient for most users.
- Mesa’s transfer partners are currently not very strong.
Mesa Points Overview
Mesa points can be used in several ways:
- Transferred to partners
- Redeemed on Mesa’s travel or shopping portals
- Redeemed as statement credit
Transfer partners:
- Accor (1.5:1)
- Air India (1:1)
- Finnair (1:1)
- Hainan Airlines (1:1)
- Thai Airways (1:1)
- Vietnam Airlines (1:1)
Accor points are fixed-value at €0.02/point. At 1.5:1 transfer, Mesa points could be worth around 1.5 cents/point— likely the best redemption value for Mesa points.
Finnair uses Avios, which can transfer freely with BA/IB/EI, making it one of the more useful options here.
Mesa Travel portal: ~1.0 cents/point
Gift cards via shopping portal: ~0.75 cents/point
Statement credit: fixed at 0.5 cents/point
(Note: Mesa doesn’t publish detailed redemption info; these estimates are based on Frequent Miler.)
Summary
The concept of earning points on your mortgage—without needing to use this card to pay the mortgage—is genuinely new and convenient.
That said, we have a few concerns:
- The current structure may not be sustainable financially for the issuer.
- The lack of transparency around point redemption could signal future devaluation.
- Some of the credits, like Lowe’s, are misleadingly advertised as “$120/year” but are actually only in the first year and split quarterly, which feels shady.
Bottom line: If you want to get in on this card, do it while they’re still burning cash. Don’t expect the perks and point values to last forever. Earn fast, redeem fast.
